Michael is one of the three Archangel clones, along with his brothers Raphael and Gabriel, who are the highest ranking commanders in the clone military. They seek to absorb Earth into their vast stellar empire, in a peaceful fashion of course. However, Lucifer, Michael's right-hand man, betrayed his commander and the Arch-angels and turns the clones against them, saying they, the Archangels, would rather treat the humans as equals in the empire, instead of enslaving them like the scum that they are.

Before the betrayal, Michael had fallen in love with a human woman named Rebecca. She was Lucifer's first target. Lucifer then began systematically destroying one major city after the other, obliterating millions of people in devastating attacks. Michael was separated from his brothers and took on the turncoat by himself. While he could not destroy him, he destroyed the engines controlling the massive clone mothership, which caused it to descendinto the Earth below. The following cataclysmic impact rocked the planet and forever changed it; whether Lucifer and the other Archangels survived, no one could tell.

Michael was thrown from the ship before the impact, crashing in his machine in a barren wasteland. A mysterious man, known only as the Benefactor, discovered the wreck and managed to recover Michael's body. Taking him into a secret facility, he repaired the damage and sealed him away within a stasis chamber. He remained that way for the next 500 years and to this day he is unsure if that was the Benefactor's intent, for when he finally awoke, the facility was derelict and void of usage in that time.

Humanity has also changed in that time. Humans have mingled with the shipwrecked clones, creating a new, stronger race known as the Nephilim. Those clones and humans that did not mix are hardline opposers of each other, wishing to eradicate one another's existence. Modern languages have disappeared, with new ones taking their place. Technology is no longer abundant; it is either fallen out of usage and forgotten, or kept in secret by the mystic technomancers. All in all, to live on the new Earth is harsh, intolerable and short.

Factions have arisen, the major one being the Empire. It controls huge tracks of land and those that do not conform to its laws are quickly annihilated.

Michael now has to face this new world he has created, forging a new persona, a bounty hunter known as the Black Death.

I'm assuming that swastika is based on the original meaning in the hindi, meaning 'the good news' or as translated for Christian applications "the gospel", which means "good news".

Just plain awesome! The music goes perfectly with the drawing. And kudos on using a proper swastika, most people would be too nervous about the likely knee-jerk angry comments

Oh and how do you include music with the image? DO you have to use a certain program for it?

Great Music. Suitable for a post-apocalyptic quasi-religious sci-fi samurai western.

How did you program this picture to come with a soundtrack: do you know how much personal abuse I could have with that?

Since you seem to have a kindred penchant for rhythm and blues and down home western tunes, here's a few. From me to you, friend.

'A man called curse' by the treble spankers

'Black cat's bone' by Hot Boogie Chillun
